Welcome to Legacy Hideaway

Owning Hill Country property has been my lifelong dream. In November of 2015, my dream came true. It took awhile and a lot of work. We have worked very hard to transform this house into a home to share with you and your family or friends.

The Name

I call this place Legacy Hideaway to honor my parents, they loved Texas and family. I want to pass those values down to my children and my "someday" grandchildren.  Hideaway speaks for itself…this is a great place to come relax and “hideaway’ from reality. (I have to give kudos to Fredo, he helped me with that part.) My dad was born and raised in Brooklyn but always wanted to be a Texas cowboy. Fortunately for me, my parents moved to Houston where I was born; that makes me a native Texan. I am very proud of that fact. The goal is to create special memories at Legacy Hideaway.  My hope is that you have such a wonderful time at Legacy Hideaway you will want to come back again and again.

The House

The previous owner built the house in 1992. He did all the wooden handiwork, including the king bed in the master bedroom and the dining table. I love the open concept and no hallways. We completed the renovation with you in mind.

My wish for you is a great night rest in the large master bedroom and that you wake up to the sunlight and the serenade of the birds. If you don’t like the sunlight part…there are mini blinds to keep it dark. Make your coffee in the large spacious fully equipped kitchen. The propane stove makes cooking easy. The Hobby Room has a beautiful custom built set of Murphy beds. The cabinet and crafting tables were built by the previous owner. There is plenty of room to set up your scrapbooking materials to preserve your memories.  At the hand- built desk in the living room you will find a telephone...yes a real working landline. You will be able to make local calls and receive calls. If you must connect to the outside world there is free WiFi.

The Owner

As a native Texan, it was a lifelong dream own property in the Texas Hill Country. I am happy to share my dream with you. Richard and I have been a team since 2005. We raised our children together in Austin; where all three of them graduated from high school. They are all now college graduates starting their own careers in Texas and Colorado.  We look forward to hosting you on your next visit to the Texas Hill Country.     Always, Anita Shapiro Braun
